Ethan has stood on top of the tallest peaks in this corner of the Cascades. He's climbed them, summited
them, and looked down at the tiny town of Index from above more times than most of us will ever look up at
it.
So there was something quietly perfect about watching him stand still at the base of those same mountains
— not climbing anything, not going anywhere — showing those peaks to Kelly.

Skykomish Valley where granite walls rise practically from the backyards, and the mountain views aren't a

choose backdrops. We just turned around.

The Prettiest Spot on the Skykomish
Just steps from the inn is an overlook on the Skykomish River that might be one of the most beautiful
portrait locations we've ever used — the river running clear and fast below, peaks stacked behind it, light
bouncing off the water. We took Kelly and Ethan there during golden hour and the frames barely needed
editing. Some places just hand you the photograph.
A Wedding at the Foot of His Mountains
Every couple has a reason their venue matters. Kelly and Ethan's was written into the skyline. These are
Ethan's mountains — the ones he's trained on, climbed, and summited. Getting married in their shadow
wasn't a backdrop choice; it was a life choice. The place that shaped him got to witness the biggest day of
his life.
And through all of it, what we photographed most was simpler than any summit: two people, two families,
and a town's worth of warmth folding them together. The mountains made the day epic. Kelly and Ethan
made it matter.
